Whole Foods

Did you know that Whole Foods offers free field trips for school age children? I know the school year is ending, but this would be a great opportunity for scouting events or something nice to end the year with for homeschooled children. Kids will learn the different food groups, the importance of organic foods and how to make healthy choices. The tour is of each department and an age appropriate goodie bag completes your visit. This would be for 8 or more children (ages 7+) and a chaperone.

Take white vinegar and put in a spray bottle and you are all set. You can spray all month for just under $3.00 plus no dangers for your children or pets!

Pinto and Black Bean Salad

1 cup pinto beans drained and rinsed
1 cup black beans drained and rinsed
1/2 cup red bell pepper,diced
1/2 cup green onion,minced
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp of lemon juice
2 tbsp cilantro, minced

Combine all ingredients and refrigerate for one hour, prior to serving. Serves 4
