Cooking with your kids...

Part 2
With the 4th of July coming up and the kids home for the summer, we wanted to provide a few guidelines for age appropriate cooking activities and ways everyone can help!
3 year olds
Wash fruits and veggies, stir ingredients in a bowl, tearing lettuce
4 year olds
Opening packages, pouring liquids, washing off the table
5 and 6 year olds
Measure ingredients, use a blunt knife, set the table, garnish foods
7 and 8 year olds
Help plan meals, using a whisk, make salads, find ingredients in the cabinets
9 to 12 year olds
Open cans, prepare simple recipes, use the oven and knives (with supervision), shredding cheese and veggies
